Quick answer
Buy an original chandelier from a showroom where you can see it at full scale and get the material, weight, light source and warranty in writing. In Lagos that means LAGE Lightings (also known as Lights Architect) in Osapa London, Lekki, City Lights at Eglo Mall, Lekki, or one of the specialist lighting stores listed below. In Abuja, LAGE Lightings (Urban Hub Mall, Wuse 2), City Lights (Blackies Plaza, Wuse 2), TheShowroom Nigeria and Luxury Light all sit in Wuse and Wuse 2.
Budget around ₦350,000 for a typical chandelier. The median across 152 chandeliers in the October 2026 Nigeria Lighting Price Index is ₦350,000, the middle half costs ₦280,000 to ₦507,500, and the full range runs from ₦65,000 to ₦1,500,000. LAGE Lightings delivers within 24 hours in Lagos and within 3 working days to other Nigerian states.

How we wrote this guide
LAGE Lightings publishes this guide and lists itself first, so you should know who is doing the ranking. Prices for LAGE Lightings come from our own catalogue and the price index. For other stores we only use what each store publishes or what a public business directory lists, and we label the source. We have not mystery-shopped any competitor, so we say what a store lists rather than judging its quality. If you spot something out of date, email info@lagelightings.com and we will correct it.
What "original" actually means when you buy a chandelier
Buyers use the word original for three different things, and it helps to separate them before you start shopping:
- Genuine materials. Real lead crystal, optical-grade glass, marble or brass, rather than plain glass, resin or acrylic finished to look like them.
- Genuine brand or maker. A piece that really comes from the designer, factory or crystal house named on the listing, with paperwork to show it, rather than an unbranded copy sold under a famous name.
- Exactly as described and safe to run. The size, weight, light source and driver match the specification, and the electrical parts are suited to Nigerian grid, inverter and generator supply.
Most disappointments come from the first and third. A chandelier can be unbranded and still be well made and honestly described, and a branded one can arrive with the wrong parts. So the goal is simple: get every claim about the piece written down by the seller before you pay.
7 checks to tell an original chandelier from an imitation
None of these tests is a laboratory test, and you cannot see lead content by eye. Together, though, they filter out most weak sellers.
- Ask for the material in writing. Frame metal, and whether the "crystal" is lead crystal, glass or acrylic. Any seller, including us, should be able to state this plainly. A vague answer such as "it is crystal" is not an answer.
- Ask for the weight in kilograms. Crystal is heavier than plain glass because of its lead content, and a genuine crystal fixture needs a sturdy frame to carry it, according to Hunker's guide to glass and crystal chandeliers. A fixture that looks large but weighs almost nothing deserves a question.
- Watch how it handles light. Hunker notes that crystal splits light into a spectrum of colour while plain glass mostly passes white light through. Ask to see the piece lit, not only in photos.
- Treat brand names as claims that need paperwork. Machine-cut crystal from houses such as Swarovski, Asfour and Schöler is positioned as luxury, and Mallory Custom Lighting says expensive pieces should come with certificates of authenticity, which authentic Murano pieces carry (Mallory Custom Lighting). If a listing names a brand or a country of origin, ask for the invoice or certificate. No document means you should treat it as unbranded.
- Look at how the glass is made. Mallory points out that moulded glass can show visible joins, while blown glass is formed in one piece, and that small flaws can be a sign of handwork. Coloured glass with the pigment melted in has deeper colour than glass that is painted afterwards.
- Inspect in person for acrylic. Acrylic elements are hard to spot from a photograph, as Mallory notes. Touch the pieces, check the edges and compare the weight with what you were quoted.
- Ask about the electrics. Ask what the driver voltage range is, whether it copes with inverter and generator switching, and whether imported electrical fittings carry the conformity documentation Nigeria requires where a product is regulated. Nigeria's SONCAP programme confirms that regulated imports meet safety and quality standards before they ship, per this SONCAP overview. Our data on LED lights, generators and inverters explains what to check.
Before you send money, also confirm the seller exists. Search the business name for free on the Corporate Affairs Commission portal, and keep the FCCPC consumer complaint portal in mind if something goes wrong. Our guide on what to check before you pay a chandelier seller in Lagos covers the full checklist.

We have not verified these businesses, so apply the seven checks above before you pay a deposit. For a ranked comparison, read our guide to the best places to buy luxury chandeliers, droplights and pendant lights in Nigeria.
Why we think LAGE Lightings is the right Lagos showroom to try first
- You can see it at scale. The Lekki showroom is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm. Seeing a 75cm or 100cm fixture in the room is the best protection against surprises in size and finish.
- Prices are published. Every product page shows the price, and the price index shows medians, ranges and the method, updated monthly.
- Sizing before you buy. Send room dimensions and ceiling height and the team recommends a size, or use the chandelier size calculator.
- Built for Nigerian power. Fixtures use wide-voltage LED drivers rated for mains, inverter and generator supply.
Popular starting points include the Firelli Sputnik Chandelier (₦230,000), the Nordic Glass Luxury Chandelier (₦280,000), the Golden Ball Crystal Chandelier (₦380,000) and the Rock Marble Chandelier (₦800,000). Browse the full chandelier collection.
Honest limits: custom pieces take longer than ready stock, and we are a decorative lighting specialist, not a general electrical supplier. Material details differ between designs, so ask the team to confirm the material and weight of the exact piece you want.
Where to buy chandeliers in Abuja
Abuja's lighting shops are concentrated in Wuse and Wuse 2, mainly along Aminu Kano Crescent and Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, so a single afternoon can cover most of them.

|---|---|---|---|
| LAGE Lightings | Urban Hub Mall, Plot 1145 Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2 | Same range as Lagos, plus custom drop, finish and bulb count | Yes, on product pages and the price index |

What original chandeliers cost in Nigeria
These figures come from the October 2026 edition of our Nigeria Lighting Price Index, which counts 152 active chandeliers at LAGE Lightings using the lowest variant price of each. They describe our catalogue, not the whole market, but they give you a benchmark for a mid-luxury range.
| Chandelier price band | Designs | Share | What it usually buys |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under ₦200,000 | 16 | 10.5% | Compact LED, sputnik and simple ring designs |
| ₦200,000 to ₦300,000 | 36 | 23.7% | Mid-size ring, linear and glass designs |
| ₦300,000 to ₦500,000 | 61 | 40.1% | Larger sculptural and multi-tier pieces, the most popular band |
| ₦500,000 to ₦1,000,000 | 37 | 24.3% | Large crystal, marble and statement designs |
| Over ₦1,000,000 | 2 | 1.3% | Pieces for double-height spaces and lobbies |
The median is ₦350,000 and the average is ₦416,900. A very low price does not prove a chandelier is an imitation, because compact LED designs genuinely start low. It does mean you should ask harder questions when a listing promises large crystal or marble at a price far below its band. Delivery, installation and returns
How fast can you get a chandelier delivered?
LAGE Lightings delivers within 24 hours in Lagos and within 3 working days to other Nigerian states, including Abuja, where it also has its own showroom. Light Trybe states same-day delivery in Lagos and 2-day delivery nationwide. Most other stores do not publish delivery times, so ask for one in writing. Our comparison of who delivers fast and what it costs has more detail.
What should you check when it arrives?
Open the packaging with the delivery person present where you can, and check every crystal, glass piece and arm against the specification before you sign. Photograph any damage straight away and report it to the seller the same day. Agree your damage policy in writing before payment, because chandeliers are fragile and are often shipped in parts.
Will your ceiling hold it?
Most Nigerian homes use POP ceilings, which carry almost no weight. Any chandelier above roughly 8kg needs a steel backing plate or threaded rod anchored into the concrete slab above, with the POP board carrying only the cover plate. Agree this with your electrician before delivery, and use our chandelier and pendant sizing guide to choose the right diameter and hanging height.
Payment and returns
LAGE Lightings accepts bank transfer through the website, payment arranged on WhatsApp, or payment in person at either showroom. Selected Lagos orders can be paid on delivery. Unused items in original packaging can be returned within 7 days of receipt once the return is confirmed with the team.
Questions buyers ask
Where can I buy original chandeliers in Lagos?
Specialist showrooms in Lekki and on Lagos Island are the safest places to buy, because you can see and handle the piece first. LAGE Lightings (Osapa London, Lekki) and City Lights (Eglo Mall, Lekki) are two Lekki options, and Light Trybe, Precise Lighting and EUGBROS are others. Whichever you choose, get the material, weight and warranty in writing.
Where can I buy original chandeliers in Abuja?
Most chandelier sellers are in Wuse and Wuse 2. LAGE Lightings (Urban Hub Mall, Aminu Kano Crescent), City Lights (Blackies Plaza), TheShowroom Nigeria (Ademola Adetokunbo Crescent) and Luxury Light (Aminu Kano Crescent) all list chandeliers or decorative lighting.
How can I tell if a crystal chandelier is real?
Ask the seller to state the material in writing, check that the weight in kilograms fits a crystal fixture, look for the colour spectrum crystal throws when lit, and ask for a certificate of authenticity when a brand is named. Inspect the pieces in person for acrylic, because it is hard to spot in photos. None of these checks measures lead content, so choose a seller who documents their claims.
How much does an original chandelier cost in Nigeria?
In the October 2026 Nigeria Lighting Price Index, chandeliers cost between ₦65,000 and ₦1,500,000, with a median of ₦350,000. The middle half cost between ₦280,000 and ₦507,500, and about 1 in 10 cost less than ₦200,000.
Is it safe to buy a chandelier on Jiji, Jumia or Instagram?
It can be, but the risk rises with the price. Confirm the business is registered on the CAC portal, ask for the specification and return terms in writing, and avoid paying a personal account for an expensive fixture you have not seen. Showrooms give you something marketplaces cannot: a place to inspect the piece and a person accountable for it.
Can I buy a chandelier in Lagos and have it delivered to Abuja?
Yes. LAGE Lightings delivers nationwide within about 3 working days, and the same catalogue can be viewed at the Wuse 2 showroom in Abuja. Buying from a store with showrooms in both cities means you can see the piece in whichever city is convenient and have it delivered to the other.
Do I need to see a chandelier in person before buying?
For a statement piece, yes where you can. Scale, finish and glass quality look different in a room than in a photo. For repeat or small items such as pendants, ordering online is quicker. If you cannot visit, ask for a short video of the exact piece lit, with its dimensions and weight stated.
How do I know what size to buy?
Add the room's length and width in metres and multiply by 8.3 to get the ideal diameter in centimetres. A 5m by 4m room takes about a 75cm fixture. The chandelier size calculator also covers hanging height and ceiling anchoring.
