LAGE Lightings — also known as Lights Architect — is a luxury lighting retailer with showrooms in Lekki, Lagos and Wuse 2, Abuja, supplying chandeliers, pendant lights, ceiling fittings, wall lights and lamps to homes, hotels, restaurants and offices across Nigeria. Founded in 2019, we have supplied more than 20,000 architectural lights to customers nationwide. We stock 372 designs priced from ₦8,500 to ₦1,500,000, deliver nationwide from a showroom you can walk into, and build every fixture around wide-voltage LED drivers rated 85V to 265V so it runs on mains, inverter or generator without flickering.

Why the name changed

For most of our seven years, the name Lights Architect said exactly what we did: chandeliers, pendants, wall lights, sized and sold to Nigerian homes. Then the work outgrew the name. Homes became hotels. Hotels became office floors. Office floors became entire developments, and the brief stopped being purely decorative — architects started asking us to specify wiring loads alongside fixtures, developers wanted one contractor accountable for the lighting and the electrical behind it.

So we became LAGE Lightings — Lights Architect and General Electrics. The name is longer because the work is bigger, not because anything about how we build a fixture has changed. Same founders, same two showrooms, same wide-voltage driver built to survive Nigerian power in every single piece we sell. Lights Architect is still who we are at the core. It is just no longer the whole of what we do.

The range is built around decorative and architectural lighting rather than general electrical supply. We carry depth in the categories people actually plan a room around.

Built for how power actually works in Nigeria

This is the part most lighting sold here gets wrong. A fixture designed for a stable 220V to 240V supply is built for a grid Nigeria does not have. Switching between NEPA, an inverter and a generator sends the voltage swinging, and fixtures that cannot absorb that flicker, buzz, or lose their drivers long before the LEDs themselves wear out.

Our fixtures use wide-voltage LED drivers rated roughly 85V to 265V. That band covers mains supply, most home inverters and standard generators, so the light behaves the same whichever one is carrying the house. For large chandeliers we still recommend a surge protector or stabiliser, exactly as you would for any high-value appliance.

The same thinking runs through the outdoor range. Fittings destined for gates, compound walls and facades use sealed weatherproof housings, because Lagos humidity and rainy season downpours end fixtures that were never rated for them. Close to the water in Lekki, Ikoyi or Victoria Island, salt air is the bigger enemy, so we will point you toward an IP65 or higher rating and a finish that survives it.

Showrooms you can walk into

Lighting is difficult to buy from photographs. Scale reads differently in a room than on a screen, and finishes like brushed brass, smoked glass and marble look nothing in a product shot like they do lit. Our showrooms at 15C Chief Waheed Eletu Street, Osapa London, Lekki, Lagos, and Urban Hub Mall, Plot 1145 Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja, exist so you can stand under a chandelier before you commit to it.

You can view fixtures lit, compare finishes side by side, place an order, or collect directly from the showroom. For a purchase in the hundreds of thousands of naira, being able to see the piece first is worth the trip across the island.

Who we work with

Most of our customers are homeowners furnishing a new apartment, duplex or family home, often working room by room over several months. Alongside them we supply interior designers specifying for clients, hospitality projects fitting out hotels and restaurants, and real estate developers lighting multiple units at once. We put out two free tools that no other lighting retailer in Nigeria offers, because the questions behind them come up in the showroom every week.

Publishing our own price data cuts against the usual instinct to keep pricing vague. We would rather buyers arrive knowing what things cost. It makes the conversation in the showroom about the right fixture rather than about whether the price is fair.
