Best Places to Buy Luxury Chandeliers, Droplights and Pendant Lights in Lagos, Abuja and Nigeria (2026)

Last updated: 12 October 2026. Store details were checked on each company's public website on 5 October 2026, and prices were refreshed from the October 2026 price index. Prices are in Nigerian naira (₦).

Quick answer: where should you buy a luxury chandelier in Nigeria?

For luxury chandeliers, droplights and pendant lights, the best place to buy in Nigeria is LAGE Lightings (also known as Lights Architect), with showrooms in Lekki, Lagos and Wuse 2, Abuja, 24-hour delivery in Lagos, 3 working day delivery to other Nigerian states, free room-sizing guidance, and a published price index covering 379 listings. City Lights is the strongest alternative if you want a large, long-established range. Light Trybe is a good option for project work and stated same-day Lagos delivery. Precise Lighting suits premium budgets above ₦1,000,000, and EUGBROS suits tighter budgets.

Buying a chandelier in Nigeria is a bigger decision than buying a bulb. A statement fixture often costs between ₦280,000 and ₦507,500 for the middle half of the market, it hangs from a ceiling you cannot easily repair, and it has to cope with grid supply, inverters and generators. This guide ranks the main places to buy, shows what each one publishes about range, price and delivery, and gives you the sizing, lumen and power data to judge any fixture before you pay.

Disclosure: this guide is published by LAGE Lightings. We rank ourselves first for luxury chandeliers, droplights and pendants and we show the evidence for that below, so you can judge it yourself. Every competitor fact comes from that company's own website.

How we ranked the stores

We ranked each store on six things a luxury buyer can check without visiting:

  1. Range in the luxury segment: real chandeliers, droplights and pendants, not just bulbs and switches.
  2. Showrooms you can visit: a physical address in Lagos and, where available, Abuja.
  3. Price transparency: prices and ranges published on the website.
  4. Buying support: sizing help, custom options, and installation guidance.
  5. Delivery: stated delivery times and coverage.
  6. Power suitability: whether fixtures are built for Nigerian mains, inverter and generator supply.

We only counted what each company states publicly. Where a company does not publish something, such as delivery times, we say so. If you see anything that is out of date, email info@lagelightings.com and we will update this page.

Why it ranks first:

  • Two showrooms, two cities. You can see a fixture in Lagos or Abuja before you buy, which matters for finish and scale.
  • Sizing before purchase. LAGE asks for your room dimensions and recommends a size first. The free Chandelier Size Calculator for Nigerian Homes also factors in POP ceiling anchoring and inverter or generator load.
  • Built for Nigerian power. Fixtures use a wide-voltage LED driver rated for mains, inverter and generator supply. Read our test data on LED lights, generators and inverters.
  • Published prices. The Nigeria Lighting Price Index 2026 shows the median, range and quartiles for 379 listings, with the methodology, and is refreshed monthly.
  • Custom options. Many chandeliers and pendants can be adapted in drop chain length, finish or bulb count to suit your ceiling height.
  • Project experience. The brand grew from lighting Nigerian homes into residential, hospitality and commercial projects with architects, interior designers and developers.

Marketplaces and classifieds: when to be careful

Jumia lists about 4,884 ceiling chandeliers from third-party and official sellers, priced from ₦9,000 to ₦400,000, with most between ₦22,500 and ₦70,000. That volume and price suit decorative, low-cost purchases. Seller quality varies, so check the seller score, whether the listing shows real photos, and the return terms before you pay for a larger fixture.

Jiji and Facebook Marketplace connect you to individual sellers, including traders in markets such as Coker. They can offer low prices, but you are dealing with one seller with no guarantee of a showroom, a written specification, or a return policy. Always inspect in person and get the material, bulb type and voltage in writing.

For a luxury fixture that you will hang over a dining table for years, a showroom or an established specialist gives you something marketplaces cannot: a place to inspect it, a person accountable for it, and sizing advice before you commit. What luxury lighting costs in Nigeria in 2026

The Nigeria Lighting Price Index 2026 (October 2026 edition, data dated 12 October 2026, 379 listings across 9 fixture categories) gives these benchmarks:

Fixture type Lowest Middle half of the range Median Highest
Chandeliers ₦65,000 ₦280,000 to ₦507,500 ₦350,000 ₦1,500,000
Pendant and droplights ₦25,000 ₦85,000 to ₦143,750 ₦120,000 ₦450,000
All fixtures (overall) ₦5,000 ₦120,000 to ₦330,000 ₦220,000 ₦1,500,000

About 1 in 10 chandeliers in the index (10.5%) cost less than ₦200,000. The index is built from LAGE Lightings' own catalogue using the lowest variant price per product, so it describes the luxury and mid-luxury segment, not the whole Nigerian market. It is refreshed monthly, and the next edition is due on 1 November 2026.

How to choose the right size, brightness and power setup

Chandelier size

A common designer rule is to add the room's length and width, and read the total as the chandelier diameter. In metric, add the length and width in metres and multiply by 8.3 to get the diameter in centimetres. A 4 m by 5 m living room gives (4 + 5) x 8.3 = about 75 cm. The imperial version of the same rule, from LightsOnline's chandelier sizing guide, adds length and width in feet and reads the sum as inches.

  • Over a dining table: choose a fixture that is 66 to 75% of the table's width.
  • Hanging height over a table: the bottom of the fixture should be 30 to 36 inches (about 76 to 91 cm) above the tabletop.
  • Walkways: keep the bottom of the fixture at least 7 feet (about 2.1 m) above the floor.

How much light you need

Home Depot's lumens per square foot guide recommends 10 to 20 lumens per square foot for living rooms and bedrooms, and 30 to 40 for dining rooms and kitchens. Converted to square metres (1 lumen per square foot is about 10.76 lumens per square metre), that is roughly:

Room Lumens per sq ft Approx. lumens per m2 Example: 20 m2 room
Living room 10 to 20 108 to 215 2,150 to 4,300 lumens
Bedroom 10 to 20 108 to 215 2,150 to 4,300 lumens
Dining room 30 to 40 323 to 430 6,460 to 8,600 lumens
Kitchen 30 to 40 323 to 430 6,460 to 8,600 lumens

These are general guides. A chandelier alone often does not supply all of this, so most rooms combine the main fixture with wall, spot or table lighting.

Power: grid, inverter and generator

Power supply is the biggest practical difference between buying lighting in Nigeria and buying it elsewhere. According to BusinessDay, Nigeria's grid generated an average of 4,102 megawatt-hours per hour in February 2026, about 32% of its 13,625 MW installed capacity. A study of 37 feeders in one southwestern Nigerian city found an average of 640 outages per year, roughly 160 days of blackout annually, according to the Energy for Growth Hub. That study covers one city, so treat it as an illustration of the problem rather than a national average.

For lighting, this means two things. First, choose LED fixtures. The US Department of Energy states that residential LEDs, especially ENERGY STAR rated ones, use at least 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs and last about 30 times longer. Lower draw makes inverter runtime go further. Second, ask the seller whether the driver is rated for fluctuating mains, inverter and generator supply. LAGE Lightings uses wide-voltage drivers for exactly this reason. For test data, read LED vs Traditional Bulbs for Nigerian Homes.

Ceiling strength

Many Nigerian homes use POP (plaster of Paris) ceilings, which cannot carry a heavy fixture on their own. Large crystal, glass and marble chandeliers should be anchored to the slab or a structural support, not to the POP. Ask the seller for the fixture's weight in kilograms before you buy and arrange for a qualified electrician to install heavy pieces. For a commercial example, see Custom Chandeliers for Hotel Lobbies in Abuja: Lead Times, Ceiling Loads and Costs.

10 questions to ask before you pay

  1. What is it made of? Ask for the frame material, and whether the "crystal" is glass, crystal or acrylic.
  2. What are the exact dimensions and weight? You need diameter, height, drop length and weight in kg.
  3. Is it LED, and are bulbs included? Check bulb type, wattage, colour temperature and lumens.
  4. Is the driver rated for Nigerian power? Ask about mains, inverter and generator compatibility.
  5. Can the drop be adjusted? Chain length decides whether it suits your ceiling height.
  6. Who installs it, and what does installation cost? Get this before payment.
  7. What is the warranty? Ask for the period and the terms in writing.
  8. What is the return policy? LAGE Lightings offers a 7-day return window for unused items in original packaging.
  9. How long does delivery take, and what does it cost? Compare stated timelines.
  10. Can you see it first? A showroom visit beats a photo for finish, scale and glass quality.

Where can I buy luxury chandeliers in Lagos?

Luxury chandeliers are sold at specialist showrooms such as LAGE Lightings (Osapa London, Lekki), City Lights (Eglo Mall, Lekki), Light Trybe and Precise Lighting. LAGE Lightings offers 24-hour delivery in Lagos, free room-sizing guidance and a showroom you can visit.

How much does a luxury chandelier cost in Nigeria?

In the Nigeria Lighting Price Index (12 October 2026), chandeliers ranged from ₦65,000 to ₦1,500,000, with a median of ₦350,000. The middle half of chandeliers cost between ₦280,000 and ₦507,500, and about 1 in 10 cost less than ₦200,000.

How much does a pendant light or droplight cost in Nigeria?

Pendant and droplights in the same index ranged from ₦25,000 to ₦450,000, with a median of ₦120,000. The middle half cost between ₦85,000 and ₦143,750.

What is the difference between a chandelier, a pendant light and a droplight?

A chandelier is a multi-arm or multi-tier decorative fixture that hangs as a centrepiece. A pendant light or droplight hangs from a single cord, chain or rod and is often used in groups over islands, bedsides or dining tables. In Nigerian retail, "droplight" and "pendant light" are used for the same product type. See our chandelier vs pendant comparison for how to choose.

What size chandelier do I need?

Add your room's length and width in metres and multiply by 8.3 to get the diameter in centimetres. Over a dining table, aim for 66 to 75% of the table's width, hung 76 to 91 cm above the tabletop. Use our chandelier size calculator to get the figures for your room.

Will a chandelier work on an inverter or generator?

It will if the fixture uses LED bulbs and a driver rated for variable supply. LAGE Lightings fixtures use a wide-voltage LED driver rated for mains, inverter and generator supply. Always ask any seller to confirm this in writing.

Is it safe to buy a chandelier on Jumia or Jiji?

It can be, but the risk is higher for expensive fixtures. Jumia sellers vary in quality and Jiji and Facebook Marketplace listings are individual sellers. For a luxury piece, confirm the seller's reputation, insist on dimensions and weight in writing, and prefer a seller with a showroom and a return policy.

How fast can I get a chandelier delivered in Nigeria?

LAGE Lightings delivers within 24 hours in Lagos and within 3 working days to other Nigerian states. Light Trybe states same-day delivery in Lagos and 2-day delivery nationwide. Delivery times for other stores are not published on the pages we reviewed.

Can I customise a chandelier or pendant light?

Yes, at some stores. LAGE Lightings can adapt many chandeliers and pendants in drop chain length, finish or bulb count to suit your ceiling height. Send your room dimensions on WhatsApp for a recommendation.

Does LAGE Lightings install chandeliers?

For larger fixtures in Lagos, LAGE Lightings connects you with vetted electricians. Smaller fixtures such as most pendant lights are straightforward to install yourself. Contact the team on WhatsApp to arrange installation after your order is confirmed.

How do I pay, and what is the return policy?

You can pay by bank transfer through the website, arrange payment on WhatsApp, or pay in person at either showroom. Selected Lagos orders can be paid on delivery. Unused items in original packaging can be returned within 7 days of receipt, once the return is confirmed with the team.
